Cruise in spacious comfort to Fort Jefferson in the Dry Tortugas National Park aboard the Yankee Freedom III, a high-speed ocean-going catamaran specifically designed for carrying passengers safely across the 70 miles of open water from Key West to the Park.
The Yankee Freedom III is 110’ long and 30.6’ wide, a broad and stable vessel certified to carry 250 passengers; however, to maximize the comfort of each guest, we limit each trip to 150 passengers.

Upon arriving at Dry Tortugas National Park, passengers will disembark the Yankee Freedom III at Fort Jefferson, located on Garden Key, and have the option of joining a 40-minute guided tour of the fort led by one of our expert naturalists. You’ll snokeling gear sitting on sand and waterhear captivating stories about the fort, its remarkable history and its surroundings.
During your visit to Fort Jefferson you can enjoy sunbathing on the white sandy Key West beaches, snorkel the vibrant reefs in the surrounding crystal blue waters, explore the wildlife and learn about historic Fort Jefferson.
This magnificent island is teeming with life and just a simple stroll around the park or along the moat wall is a great way to enjoy the panoramic views of the ocean and the natural wonderland it surrounds.
You can peer into the clear waters and view tropical fish swimming, spot starfish and watch hermit crabs shuffle along the sand, see some of the worlds rarest birds just miles from the Florida Keys, and more.
The shallow waters (5-15 feet) make snorkeling at the Dry Tortugas fun for everyone. Whether beginner or expert, you can enjoy an abundance of colorful tropical fish and living coral among the waters.
Directly accessible from the brilliant white sand beach are the Fort Jefferson snorkeling areas. Look for majestic corals, many varieties of tropical fish, starfish, queen conchs, and much more in this protected marine sanctuary.
